Gedongsari village
We are now in the process to give loan to 6 women from Gedongsari village, Pandak district,Bantul Regency . Gedongsari village located around 15 KM from Yogyakarta or around 20 minute from our office by motorbike. We visited 6 women from this village that’s applying to get loan from us. The women are all nice, honest and hard worker. There is one thing that bothers me. It’s about the village hygiene condition. I saw there are lots of cow cage in this village. The problem is cow cage located only few meter from house where family live. I can say these villagers live very close with cows, almost every house side by side with cow’s cage. The cows shit give very unpleasant smell and disgusting view, lots of insect flying around. This condition is not healthy for the villagers, cow shit will contaminate water in this place. I asked one woman in our loan group “is the water change? She said “yes, now the color of water is rather white not clear,but what we can do? It's just another real story from poverty side.
Composting project

The restoration and maintenance of soil fertility has become a universal problem." -- Sir Albert Howard, Farming and Gardening for Health or Disease (The Soil and Health), Faber and Faber, London, 1945 PPMK cooperate with “Sumber Rejeki “ group in composting project. “sumber rejeki” is a small business group from bulus wetan/nogosari village, they have home industry in making many kind of product from recycle plastic waste The composting project started by giving the knowledge and training skill for the group members. The training held in Potorono, Mayungan village. In the training group members get theorical knowledge about composting making process and directly practice how to make the compost. The training given to start the project, after training we will continue the project with another schedule activity such; build the composting build, prepare...
Plastic waste Project
Plastic waste Project is set up a small business of plastic waste recycling product in the target area in order to create as many as job for villagers in poor area. This project is recruit workers from village; they will be train to make the small business running and be sustainable business which can give them income. The purpose of this project is to empower impoverished women by giving skills training and management training in order to established a small business group and able to create job for themselves, the project also has environmental purpose by turning plastic waste into valuable products and give opportunity to people get income from plastic waste . This Project is implemented in Canden village,Bantul Regency ,Yogyakarta. There are 17 women selected join the training skills, the selection base on criteria: 1) Women in productive age (20-40 years old or married) 2) Women who have household responsibility expenses, 3) Women who have no income and have no opportunity to work in other place because of low education. After the skills training given, small business group will be formed, 4 women from the training group with best skill will be selected and get bookkeeping training....
